Snow, Skype And Troublesome Pandas

by admin - 17:24 on 10 October 2013

Autumn has arrived: chill winds, a lawn covered with leaves, and a dusting of snow on the very top of Ben Wyvis. It won't be long before it's on the roads, so today I booked in Son of Seat for a visit tomorrow to the Dingwall Tyre Emporium – some increased tread depth will be useful, especially ahead of next week's Borders Tour. Earning enough to pay for the new rubber is a fantasy.

I've also been active in the digital world, creating a Skype account – which will explain an unexpected request that a small number of readers will have received. Blame the Skype elves, not me. I promise not to pester anyone who adds me to their contact list.

The reason for this burst of connectivity is to enable Matchgirl to stay in touch during her jaunts to Shetland. Not that she wishes to see my face on her iPad – her hope is to say hello to the members of The Pride and enjoy the confusion this causes. Simple pleasures.

Literary Update: My first writing exercise was presented yesterday at my second meeting with the Black Isle Writers. We had to create a dialogue between two contrasting characters. Mine featured a chat between Paddington Bear and Winnie the Pooh on life in the fast lane and the trouble with pandas. You'll find it here.
