The Veil Is Lifted

by admin - 19:22 on 16 June 2014

They said it would never happen. They said it COULD never happen. They were wrong. Today, just short of seven years since we met, camera-shy Matchgirl has for the first time allowed a snap that features her unpixilated face to appear on this blog.

I should be offended that it's not a picture taken by me or the Pentax, but the image does feature some of my snappery. It's a long story...

As part of the preparations for her Icelandic half marathon, Matchgirl recently took part in a chi training camp in Callander where participants learned how to run without touching the ground. Something like that, anyway. At the end, she was so delighted with her improved posture that she failed to turn away when one of her fellow runners produced a camera. She even smiled.

Back home, whiling away some time on the interweb, she found a link to a series of pictures entitled Runners and Cats, produced with generous helpings of Photoshop. I couldn't resist. The resulting montage tickled her fancy so much that I've won permission to present it to the world.

Matchgirl, by the way, is on the right of her running chum Cathy who's also taking part in the Icelandic odyssey.

By now you'll be wondering why my beloved, being neither fat nor ugly, is so unwilling to be snapped. I'm still wondering too. Enjoy this brief glimpse because her passion for anonymity is certain to return by tomorrow.

This is just hilarious! Still giggling now, even after seeing it so many times. :-)

Is it my imagination or are those cats licking their chops?

It's worrying what can be done with Photoshop - even my 13-year-old version!

OMG, I'm still laughing at this! Maia & Pandora look like they're thinking, 'Go on, run...we dare you!' and Willow's expression clearly says, 'F**k off, this is MY bird!' Cathy looks happily oblivious to the danger behing us and I look like I'm pretending not to notice that we're surrounded by cats. Love it!
