Too Much Temptation

by admin - 19:56 on 01 September 2013

Matchgirl isn't the only one to appreciate my baking skills. Yesterday evening, the tempting aroma wafting from sun-dried tomato and parmesan rolls and an experimental cinnamon fruit loaf left to cool on a wire rack proved too much for one of The Rural Retreat's feline residents.

Maia – for she was the light-pawed culprit – sneaked on to the kitchen worktop, seized a roll and attempted a quick getaway, foiled when the booty slipped from her mouth. A better illustration of biting off more than you can chew is difficult to find.

This isn't the first time that Maia's shown her appreciation of home baking, for failure to fully close the bread bin runs the risk of its contents finding their way to the kitchen floor.

A bread-loving cat – who'd have thought it?

I had a cat that ate a pickle once.

Did it enjoy the experience?

It ate the whole piece of pickle so I assume so.
