Birthday Blues

A horrified Matchgirl realised today that she'll miss The Pride's collective birthdays. On Monday, when The Fearless Ones become one year old and Maia turns three, she'll be far away, taking care of business on her monthly trip to Shetland.

I promised to post a video on YouTube of the trio in their party hats, opening their presents, playing with wrapping paper and getting sick on cream and salmon, but for some reason that seemed to be of little comfort.

I suspect that celebrations will be delayed until Thursday, when she's home and has a whole day free in which to spoil her moggies rotten.

In the meantime, here's Pandora's latest portrait, of a very grown-up-looking cat – until she stands beside Maia when we can see that she's still quite a small girl.

Marten Update: No new sightings, which may be partly explained by the lack of food early this morning and a contented rook in the middle of the garden.
