The Usual Suspects

by admin - 21:34 on 27 January 2013

The day got off to an early start to enable Matchgirl and me to watch Andy Murray win his second Grand Slam title. So that was a waste of time.

More productive was the hour spent at That Bloody Window, although this was in pursuit of Big Garden Birdwatch data rather than snappery. Chaffinches finished top of the list for the second year running, followed (again) by blue tits and tree sparrows.

All the usual suspects featured apart from greenfinches (which I've not seen for a week or two), woodpigeons, treecreepers and pheasants – although I did hear Mr P in the distance. Top sighting, for all of three seconds, was a sparrowhawk.

Clouds

After that, time for snappery was running out but I managed a few shots on the way home after completing Tesco duties. The reality is enhanced by cloudy white balance, I confess. The mossy wall will be revisited another time.
