Bushnells At Dawn

by admin - 21:06 on 12 April 2012

Bushnell wars look set to break out across the Black Isle. Squirrel James, clearly driven into a fit of acquisitive jealousy by my night-time infra red images of martens and hedgehogs (and cats), has splashed out on a Trophy Cam of his very own.

Or perhaps it's a gift to himself to mark his deserved success in becoming Cromarty Camera Club's new Photographer of the Year. What a star.

So far he's captured nothing of note on his apparatus (or he's keeping quiet about it). Doubtless that will change soon. So to show him how it's done, here's a snap taken last night of Mrs Marten on The Feeding Stump and Marten Junior in The Nutella Tree. Speedy was along an hour later.

I don't think that the martens hunt together because a joint sighting is not a regular occurrence – maybe it was coincidence that they were around at the same time. But what do I know? I'm still a long way from being a marten expert.

Holiday Update: Of course, every day's a holiday for me, but today was memorable for Matchgirl – her last day at work before two weeks off. The marathon may be on hold but the trip to London is still on, Bess permitting, and today the tickets for our West End treat arrived – front row, upper circle for The Woman in Black. I've neither read the book nor seen the film. So shush.

Two eggs, nuts and honey should change my luck. I'll let you know how I get on. Maybe your readers should check out my blog? Just Google James Alan Moore's Nature Blog, it's not at the same standard as Russell's but I can only try. :-)

As Matchgirl commented, a shameless plug. You should be ashamed.

How rude! It's not as if I'm advertising a product for sale such as my wonderful nature prints, available through my website jamesamoore.co.uk ;-)
