The Slow Road To Inverness

by admin - 23:14 on 05 December 2011

It's rather disconcerting, when driving in a 20mph queue, to see the car ahead of you fishtail all over the road. Yes, the snow has arrived, unlike the gritters.

I made it aboard the good ship GNoME only forty-five minutes late having driven most of the way from The Rural Retreat without using brakes. What fun. The main roads were clear by the time I returned to feed a grumpy cat but The Serious Lenses were taking no chances: the talks Squirrel James and I were scheduled to deliver at Dingwall Camera Club had been postponed.

Whether Strawdogs' second visit to Aviemore on Friday goes the same way is still for the fates to reveal but, if the weather doesn't improve, the prospects aren't good.

It could be a long winter.
