Winter – It's Official

There's been snow on the Ben for the past few days, and temperatures barely above zero for several mornings, but today was the start of December and the winter – and Bess knew.

For months she's ignored her comfy shelf above the radiator, mostly in favour of taking up half the sofa, yet today, with no encouragement, she returned to the approved winter snooze spot. How did she know that December had begun​?

The meteorological moggy didn't stay there for long, although she did return for an even briefer residence half an hour later. As I had no chance to take the official first-day-of-winter snap here's one from times gone by. It could have been taken today.
