One Day Too Late

by admin - 20:50 on 18 November 2011

Life can be cruel. I turned up at the scrapyard bright and early yesterday morning, eager to carry off a secondhand boot for Mr Ford, to receive only bad news from the grubby staff who lounged in their shed.

“The Mondeo? Got baled yesterday, mate. Nothing much left on it anyway. The boot? Yeah, that was OK.” Their spokesman shrugged and returned to his tea.

So next week I'll take a look at the two local breakers and hope for better luck.

There's brighter band news: the management of The Winking Owl were so impressed with our musical stylings last week that there's the possibility of another gig next month. Negotiations are ongoing.

Wildlife Update: The Bushnell continues to stand occasional sentinel in the garden, usually programmed to capture video. I'll edit them together eventually. Last night I set it for stills and got a few more snaps of visiting martens. I'm certain there's Mrs Marten and a smaller one. Take a look and decide for yourself.

...But the early-morning visitor appears smaller

No marten treats in the apple tree but it's always worth making sure
