In Her Own Words

by admin - 20:33 on 05 November 2011

Matchgirl made her London Marathon ambitions even more real today by booking us three nights at the Tower Bridge Novotel in a package which includes transport to the start and from the finish. A wise decision. There's also a preview for the runners, the night before, of the starting grid so they won't be overawed on The Big Day.

All that's left to be decided, apart from which charity she'll run for, is how we'll get there – by train or plane. There are thoughts of a post-marathon holiday, but whether she'll be too sore to enjoy one might depend on the success of her preparation.

At the moment, the anonymous athlete's training is going well, especially since she bought a different pair of running shoes. There's always a reason for new shoes.

To mark her progress she's created her very own blog, All Will Be Well – a remarkable title for the glass-half-empty girl (who will be incognito there too). This is intended to chronicle her steps towards athletic greatness with details of her training regime, her ups and downs on the road to London, and her thoughts on running, life, the universe and everything.

I give it two weeks before it's all about handbags and cats.
