Marathon Woman

Life continues to be quiet for me, although there's much vicarious excitement to be had through the activities of Marathon Matchgirl.

Just days before she competes in the Loch Ness 10k on Sunday, today she received notice that her application for a place in next year's London Marathon on April 22 has been successful. A small amount of panic ensued.

Is her ankle up to it? Where can she find a local mentor to help with training? Which charity should she run for? Where shall we stay in London? Will she have to eat more healthily and give up cake? Where can she buy her cat costume? (I made the last one up.) There's so much to think about.

The next seven months promise to be full of incident. I'll keep you posted.
