Looking For Evidence

by admin - 20:47 on 24 August 2011

Returning the Bushnell to high sensitivity was a mistake. That's why the 4GB memory card was full by 4am, mostly with snaps of an unmoving log. Looking through them I felt like a very junior detective given several hours of CCTV footage to examine.

There was some activity, however, begun at 9.45pm by one of the Speedys, followed at 10.30 by the first marten visitor, who looked much like Mrs Marten. I think she returned fifteen minutes later; Matchgirl is convinced that the diner was a larger male. You can be the judge.

After that the action was confined to much hedgehog coming and going and the sight of faint blurs and disturbed grass that are the only evidence of many small, scurrying creatures.

Still no cats, though. I think Bess has a secret night-life she doesn't want to share.

No problems for Mrs Marten, however
