Breakfast With Master Marten

The angry twittering began this morning at 7.30, but a marten – or martens – must have called overnight too as there was little for Master Marten to eat in The Nutella Tree and the egg had been carried away.
Of course, he might have returned for seconds after enjoying a midnight snack. Who knows with martens?
Whatever, there were enough peanuts left in the photogenic clump for him to get his day off to a protein-filled start and allow me to add another portrait to the collection.
The garden tonight was a marten-free zone; the kits have still not allowed me to see them at play again. I'll keep watching.
My plan for today was a spot of gardening but torrential rain and thunder left no opportunity to haul the lawnmower out of the outhouse. I'll try again tomorrow, for Mr Gardener begins work on Monday and I don't want him to think we're complete horticultural slobs.
