The Countdown Resumes

by admin - 21:17 on 25 February 2011

Yorkshire craftsmanship has triumphed: the binding on the sample copies of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery is as good as could have been hoped for.

The only job left is for Norman and Co to print a new set of covers and a few extra copies of the book. They should be on their way to Wakefield on Wednesday, along with the existing pages, and back in Dingwall around a week later, transformed into the Highlands' next best-seller.

So, all being well (which, as we've discovered, isn't guaranteed), the result of our labours will be on display in carefully chosen Black Isle outlets by mid-March and local book-lovers who've pre-ordered the great work will have received their signed copies.

An official launch will still be staged, but a date won't be set until the books are in our hands and declared perfect. Which means it might happen at short notice. Watch this space.

Blue Tit 7

By the time a day of summit meetings, last-minute decisions and unrelated tasks was over I'd had little time to relax with some garden snappery, so here's one of the regular visitors who strutted along Master Marten's gate a couple of days ago.

Common they may be, but blue tits are always worth a closer look.

They'll get it by post, collect it when they're up here or receive it when I'm visiting. Simples!

Hooray! Fingers crossed they're all perfect.
