Preparing To Be Famous

Times are quiet for the residents of The Rural Retreat, hence the lack of recent bloggery.

Shaker convened again on Monday, for a rehearsal that was a great improvement on the previous one, but apart from that there's been little to report. Work does get in the way of more interesting pursuits.

The authors of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery continue to keep their fingers crossed that they'll take delivery of the volumes before The Official Launch, now less than four weeks away.

Another retailer (to be confirmed later) has asked to stock the book that all of Ross-shire will soon be talking about, and Fortrose Post Office has enquired about the possibility of increasing its allocation from the first print run. Very promising.

On Friday Andrew, Marten James and I embark on a whirlwind media blitz to publicise our great work. This consists of an interview with one of the Inverness Courier's hacks, followed by an email interview with the Ross-shire Journal, which insists on doing things differently. When the results appear in the papers we hope to be overwhelmed by orders. Time will tell.
