A Rude Awakening (Again)

It's been a quiet day at The Rural Retreat following a rather noisy awakening at 5am. Bess still insists on being loudly proud of her hunting skills.

There's likely to be the same tomorrow, for the small game hunter spent most of the day asleep on the bed or the sofa in preparation for another night on the prowl.

I was tempted to give Kawasaki San another run but literature again got the better of me, as it did Matchgirl, although I did find time to give the lawn what I hope will be its final trim of the season. The fun never stops.

So the only snaps I have are a couple from the ascent of Fyrish – look carefully at the monument and you'll see a rare photographic appearance by Matchgirl.

There may be better tomorrow, unless I get caught up in another book.
