Who's Been Sitting In My Chair?

Cats are notable for finding the comfiest places. And they don't care who they push out of the way to get there.
For the past few days, Bess has laid claim to Matchgirl's seat on The Rural Retreat's two-person sofa. It will be no surprise to hear that her doting owner relinquished it without a struggle. The pampered pet even gets the use of Matchgirl's emergency blanket; if it's not there, some stern staring ensures that it's put in place with all possible speed.
As a gallant gentleman, I in turn have given up my seat – to Matchgirl – so the females of the household can stay together, although I'm allowed my seat back when the gadget geek plays with her laptop. Bubble Island is very addictive, it seems.
Foolishly, I reinforced the seat-stealer's habits by spending half-an-hour making use of her personal hairbrush, which she enjoyed without reservation. After that, the well-groomed moggy went to sleep with her legs in the air.
Bess is in charge again; the ghost of Spider has been exorcised.
