The Boys Done Good

Plucky little England thrash the mighty Slovenia 1-0 to make progress in the World Cup. A nation rejoices. Meanwhile, in Scotland, the Anyone-but-England fans cry into their beer.

But the real excitement was this morning when Miss Marten made an appearance at 8am that was so unexpected I'd not yet replaced the marten treats guzzled the night before. This meant there were only scraps to keep her in The Nutella Tree, so the snaps I got were few and hurried. And the light was poor. All the usual excuses.

She visited yesterday evening at dusk when it was light enough to see her but pointless pointing the Pentax in her direction. Typically, she dallied for ages on the gate then did the same in the tree. But it's still great fun watching the acrobatics and her enjoyment of the feast laid on for the benefit of passing martens.

There are a few more new snaps on Flickr, although none are award winners. The best is yet to come.
