Feeling The Heat

by Russell Turner - 20:33 on 22 July 2017

The Birdwatching Breaks brochure is finished and summer has returned (for now) so much more of the never-ending mowing took place today. There’ll be more tomorrow, weather permitting, and some strimming.

But I’ve been able to spend time with the Pentax and cats, although the heat meant The Pride was reluctant to move very far. Pandora had hardly covered any distance up the lane yesterday when she flopped into the clover to recover.

And today Willow preferred to laze on the rockery outside the cottage (we take things literally at The Rural Retreat) rather than explore further afield.

As for Maia, our stay-at-home cat did what she does best – stayed somewhere comfortable, indoors, and away from cameras. Some cats don’t like to get too far from their food bowl.
