On The Shortlist - Again

Trumpets have sounded and the word has come down from Highland Media Awards HQ: Black Isle Chatterbox – the Highlands and Islands Community Newspaper of the Year – will defend its title in 2017.

The shortlist for the north of Scotland’s best papers, reporters, photographers and associated categories was revealed today, including a community section made up of Chatterbox (of which I’m editor) and two entrants from the Western Isles. The winners will be named at the annual hacks’ booze-up also known as the Press Ball, to be held at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness on February 3.

Matchgirl is already looking forward to getting out her posh frock, and I’ll have the chance to wear the DJ for the first time since last year’s bash. Fingers crossed.

The current edition – will we be able to keep the strap along the bottom?
