Two Workaholics And Three Bored Cats

by Russell Turner - 19:51 on 14 February 2016

It's the day for lurve, so how did Matchgirl and I spend it? By working – that's how.

Matchgirl was busy downstairs, compiling some imminently due reports; I was equally busy upstairs with the forthcoming Spring edition of award-winning Black Isle Chatterbox, which will be in the shops on March 1 (if we can coax our grumpy printer through another run).

Bored cats were their usual helpful selves, especially Willow, whose desire to be on my lap (and draped across my left arm) as soon as I'm seated in front of the Mac never wanes. Despite that, several more pages were completed and prospects look good for the deadline.

An attempt was made by Matchgirl to take The Pride for a healthy stroll, but a sleet shower two minutes after leaving The Rural Retreat put paid to that idea. Matchgirl was willing to continue. However, moggies are made of less stern stuff and bolted back indoors where Willow indulged her passions for jumping on to the top of the biggest bookcase and climbing on the television.

As for us, lack of forward planning meant we don't even have a bottle of something special for the evening. Maybe tomorrow.
