Jigging At Jacko's

by Russell Turner - 22:18 on 30 November 2015

City Limits Lite played to a modest crowd at Jacko's yesterday, but those that were there were mostly of an age to appreciate the 70s/80s rock that comprises our set when Ashley's taken out of the equation. This was fortunate, as it meant they overlooked some decidedly dodgy playing on my part. I really must practise more.

Ashley's harmonies weren't totally missed, because Keith had the excuse to bring out his harmoniser pedal. A triumph.

The management was happy too (after we turned down the volume following the first number) and has already given us gigs for January and February, and for Saturday nights too rather than Sunday afternoons.

If you missed the gig, edited highlights are available on YouTube thanks to Nicola's Nikon.

Much admin took place today. Press releases went out to local papers to tell them of Rosemarkie Connections; the Chatterbox and Black Isle Info websites were updated ahead of the magazine hitting the shops tomorrow. That's also when I'll find if we've maintained our 1,000+ sales for a third straight edition. I'm not optimistic (there are lots of unsolds in Cromarty) but I wasn't last time either so you never can tell.

There will be more press releases to prepare soon, for word reached me today from Speedprint in Inverness that Memories of a Ben Line Man is ready for collection. Chatterbox duties (me) and a new carpet (Stuart) mean that collection will have to wait until Wednesday. It's a busy life as a publisher.
