Completed Connections

by Russell Turner - 20:28 on 08 November 2015

Production of the next edition of Chatterbox is moving much more slowly than usual, but I do have a good excuse. I've also been working on the second of two tomes to be published this month (printers permitting) by Bassman Books.

The good news is that Rosemarkie Connections is now complete, barring any changes arising from author Freda's final proofreading today and tomorrow, and should be emailed to Big Sky in Findhorn later this week. Printing is scheduled for the last two weeks of November so Freda has booked Gordon Hall in Rosemarkie on December 6 for the official launch.

My experience with Eilean Dubh suggests that setting any date before the books are in your hands, with all the pages attached securely, is taking a chance, but we're both quietly confident. So if you'd like a copy (only £12) signed by the author, and maybe a cup of tea and a slice of cake, come along at 2pm.

Printing of Memories of a Ben Line Man (by a different concern) has yet to begin, much to my and the author's frustration. With luck it should be completed by next week at the latest.

Thanks to the work I've done on Connections, I'm now in discussions about another book. Its author (not local) and subject must remain secret for now, but it involves history and the Borders. Fingers crossed.

Music Update: City Limits' gig at Mad Hatters in Inverness on Friday began with a mere handful of people in the audience but finished with a large and enthusiastic crowd. Well, as large as it could be in such a small venue. The only dark cloud was a malfunctioning bass amp, which I've yet to arrange to be fixed because the local expert's not answering his phone. More frustration.

And the gig at Jacko's in Nairn is off because we were double booked by the management. There's always something.

Feline Update: Our ginger visitor is either staying home or has found a more welcoming household as he's not been seen for several days. The Pride is not missing him at all.
