Heavens Above

by Russell Turner - 18:27 on 28 September 2015

After two late nights being a rock star I was not in the mood to stay up until 2am again to see a red moon. Instead I settled for an ordinary full moon a few hours earlier.

There were some very atmospheric clouds around it, but capturing those on the Pentax meant the moon was burned out, and my Photoshop skills are not good enough to place a good moon into the hole without it being obvious.

Despite that, I was pleased with my first attempt at celestial snappery. However, it may be a while before I gather any Milky Way or deep space images, but snapping something more than 225,000 miles away was a good start.
