And The Living Is Freezy

by admin - 19:42 on 30 March 2015

British Summer Time began yesterday; snow fell today. That's the Highlands for you. To be honest, it was more of a sleety shower, but if we had that there'll be worse elsewhere, and more is forecast for tomorrow. Matchgirl may yet have an opportunity to build a snowcat in the garden.

BST didn't begin a moment too soon – The Pride has operated on summer time for at least four weeks, demanding meals well ahead of schedule. No surprise that Maia's the ringleader. Our breakfasts and teas will coincide for a while but sooner or later – probably sooner – feline tummy clocks will fall out of sync again. I think they work on a twenty-three hour cycle.

The temperature has fallen so low that our open fire has been brought back into use. Sleeping cats have nabbed the choicest spots above or beside radiators. My Maytime trip to the Mediterranean seems a long way away.

Musical Update: For those of you who eschew Facebook (and I don't blame you) here's the first digital souvenir of City Limits' gig at Foxes last Friday, captured by Kyle Maclennan. Michael's not really doubling up on drums and brass – the tuba is one of several decorative instruments pinned to the walls.
