Jammin' In The Kitchen

by admin - 18:47 on 19 February 2015

The full Strays line-up convened for the first time this year (and several months before that) in the comfort of Matt the drummer's kitchen. The low volume necessary in a small space (despite his home being in the middle of nowhere) and unexpectedly good acoustics meant we had a relaxing reunion. And tea on tap. Further rehearsals will be held there.

Get-togethers may take place more regularly than in the past – Jim's home from his oil rig and not required to return until at least April, thanks to the downturn in the energy industry. But what's bad news for BP could be good for The Strays as he'll have time and inclination to hunt for gigs.

We also have the opportunity to play at the Black Isle Show gig in August, which in the past has drawn big crowds. So it's a shame that this year it clashes with the first night of Belladrum, which means that most music-lovers will be in a field near Beauly rather than a field near Muir of Ord. Such is life.
