Another Debut Delay

The Music Gods continue to toy with me: just days before my delayed debut as The Deeds’ stand-in bass player, at Beauly Gala on Saturday, I was told today that the band’s regular bassist will probably be able to make it after all.

This may be just as well, if rather frustrating. It’s more than a month since I’ve rehearsed with them and they seem to be in no hurry to rectify that, although a get-together will be necessary soon if I’m to appear with them for my other two scheduled guest spots this month.

The Strays’ summer holiday break is now well under way, with no prospect of gigs in the foreseeable future, so I’ll have to concentrate on my snappery for creative fulfilment. Much of this morning was spent preparing and uploading Iceland snaps to Flickr so you'll be able to enjoy the slideshow below. However, don’t click on full-screen view – I save pictures low res to discourage people from nicking them.

And if you wonder why Matchgirl’s face doesn’t appear among them, it’s because she doesn’t care to be gazed upon by strangers browsing through Flickr.
