A Technological Leap

by admin - 19:44 on 24 January 2014

I've put off taking advantage of Spanglefish's upgrade option for a while, but today was the day. While doing so, I took the opportunity to create a whizzy new home page in the hope of attracting new authors for Bassman Books and more freelance income from local business. I've even joined LinkedIn to increase my chances.

The changeover to Spanglefish 2 occasioned no major dramas, apart from the one instance when I killed the site completely by over-experimenting with CSS code. Fortunately, Spanglefish HQ in Cromarty came to the rescue. You live and learn.

There are a few minor tweaks still to make, and no doubt a few niggles will come to light in the future, but unless Bassman Books becomes a global brand the site will do for now. Let me know if you spot any problems.

To mark this momentous change, the online price of Eilean Dubh and A Cat Called Tess has been reduced forever – post and packing is now free in the UK. How can you resist?

A day mostly spent staring at a computer screen left no time for snappery. That will change this weekend when I participate in The Big Garden Birdwatch, although I've yet to decide which day will be better. The weather is key – wind and rain tomorrow or snow on Sunday, if the blizzard forecast for further south reaches us. The Winterwatch team will be kicking itself.
