Home Again

The holiday's over and we're home again to a garden with much fewer leaves on the trees and many more on the lawn and in the gutters. It looks like tomorrow's tasks are taking shape.

Bess, despite a week's spoiling by Soo and Tony the cat-sitters, appeared pleased to see us. For a while, anyway, until she'd had her fill of petting; then she went back outside to play on her new climbing frame, also known as Mr Renderer's scaffolding.

She might as well make use of it, for he hasn't. Work has yet to begin.
