Take That and Robbie Williams, The Eagles, Spandau Ballet. And now, Shaker.

A one-off reunion was proposed to play at a desperately keen former fan's birthday party in an Evanton pub. Everyone was up for it, to a greater or lesser degree – even Matt was prepared to end his self-imposed retirement.

Twenty-four hours later, the gig is off but the reunion remains possible, although no date or venue has been set.

I'm trying to keep an open mind. Time will tell.

Photo Book Update: My second attempt to upload the honeymoon memoir, after much work with Photoshop, Acrobat and Blurb's BookSmart software, ended successfully at two this morning. I was determined.

The fruit of my efforts will be delivered to The Rural Retreat between one and five weeks hence, probably nearer the latter. That's when I'll discover if my PDF bodge worked, and just how much damage can be caused by an uncalibrated computer monitor,
