A Tale Of Two Hunters

by admin - 19:59 on 08 March 2013

Our two young hunters were both in action today, but Willow still has a lot to learn – despite having  Pandora to show her the way.

This morning, the tabby terror leapt through the cat-flap without touching the sides, Matchgirl reports, and scurried beneath the dining table. Something was up. A torch was employed and revealed a kitten with a mouthful of squealing mouse.

Fortunately, Pandora is still failing to learn from past mistakes. Matchgirl was unable to persuade the growling moggy to drop her catch, but the mouse escaped when Pandora attempted to get a better hold on it, only to be seized by Willow – who made the same error.

The panicked rodent was recaptured by Pandora and spirited away outside where yet again it was let go by the careless kitten. A short Benny Hill-style chase ensued, at the end of which Matchgirl was the rodent's newest captor. This time, however, the victim was released safe, unharmed and well away from cats' eyes.

But there was more excitement this afternoon, this time with Willow in the lead role, barrelling through the cat-flap in a recreation of Pandora's earlier antics.

The torch was employed once again, to discover what luckless creature had been captured, and illuminated our smaller kitten savaging – a leaf. At least no rescue mission was necessary.
