Floral And Fruity

by admin - 12:41 on 07 March 2013

One of my many snappery blind spots concerns studio work, so a still life workshop last Tuesday organised by Dingwall Camera Club and led by Phil 'The Expert' Downie (one of the Not-so-serious Lenses) seemed just the ticket.

My initiation into the world of black backdrops and umbrellas took place in an upstairs room at club HQ along with three other members where our cameras were wired into a professional flash set-up and we were let loose to experiment with aperture, reflectors and floral and fruity models.

We left, two hours later, with new knowledge and several dozen snaps each, which today I whittled down to three.

A new direction in snappery could be useful because for the last three nights the martens' food remained untouched until the birds left their beds. This may be caused by nearby DIY and associated bonfires, or something to do with the creation of little martens, so I won't panic just yet.

However, if they're not back by next week, then I'll start to worry.
