Maia The Happy Cat

by admin - 20:27 on 20 November 2012

Almost overnight, Maia The Emo Cat has become a changed moggy. Instead of hiding in our bedroom, thinking gloomy thoughts and listening to Nine Inch Nails, the increasingly frisky feline wants to be where there are people and kittens, a place on the sofa and an opportunity to play. Amazing.

The turnaround has happened within days. We have a new cat.

Maia can now be trusted without her collar for long periods and was even allowed unaccompanied into the garden this evening. The hard work of Matchgirl and good advice from Dr Vet and Dr Supervet is at last showing results.

The Fearless Ones have mixed opinions about this remarkable turn of events. Both have enjoyed lots of mothering from the rejuvenated puss, and have a new friend to hang out with, but Maia is determined to prove that she's top cat. Pandora's had to back down during several play fights, although they've remained friends. And all three now spend the night on our bed.

Sooner or later I'll get a snap of the cat jig-saw created when the trio curls up in one big moggy mass. Ten out of ten for cute.

There has been bad news today, however. Cleo's of Dingwall, where I source my photo frames, is shutting up shop at Christmas. Disaster. Where else will I find the special frame that sets off my snap of Greengate so well? Life is change.
