Caught In The Act – Again

by admin - 17:53 on 16 August 2012

Squirrel James spares no expense when it comes to gadgets that will help him in his quest for better wildlife snaps: fancy cameras, huge lenses, top-end tripods, camouflage netting and snapper-friendly hides – everything money can buy (although he does insist on serving cheap eggs to hungry martens; no wonder they stay away).

So it was no surprise that after seeing Mrs Marten's infra red antics he went out and bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam of his very own.

However, he's not been impressed with the results and the cam is now on eBay. Some people have no patience. To show him what he's losing, here's a new YouTube of Young Marten captured over several days within the last week.

72 images on my Bushnell on Tuesday night and 43 the night before of 2 martens. The images start at 10pm and go on to 10am! If only I had them right outside 'my bloody window', I'd save a fortune on gadgets and cool camouflage.

Glad I kept the Bushnell now as it works just fine when positioned correctly. I suspect I've missed all the fun in early summer due to the thing not picking up the martens' movement, crows never helped either. There's always next year!

Back to normal. The Bushnell captured no images last night in the same position as the night before even though the food was gone!
