A Date in the Courthouse

by admin - 22:41 on 23 August 2011

Big news broke today with the arrival of an email from The Scots Magazine – a two-page feature on The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery will appear in the October edition. Order your copy today.

Of more immediate interest is an exhibition of selected snaps from the book which opens at Cromarty Courthouse on Sunday and runs until September 29. Signed copies of the book will be on sale, of course, as will several tastefully framed prints, all at competitive prices.

If you've not heard of this great event, blame the Courthouse, which doesn't worry too much about publicity; we'll have to rush some out ourselves. Its opening times are rather eccentric too – 2-4pm, Sunday to Thursday, closed Friday and Saturday.

All being well, this will be the first of several exhibitions designed to bang the drum for The Bumper Book. This time next year we'll be millionaires.

Bushnell Update: Last night's infra red snaps, taken with slightly tweaked parameters, produced lots of information but no images worth keeping. I'll persevere with the settings. What they revealed was no marten visitor until 1.30am – three hours later than last night – but a constant stream of hedgehogs.

One face surprisingly missing from those captured on camera is Bess's. Either the resident moggy spends more time indoors at night than we realise or she gives the Bushnell a wide berth. Time will tell.
