Merry Christmas!

by admin - 20:36 on 25 December 2010

A good Christmas Day: books, slippers and gingerbread penguins in my stocking; a walk in the country and beside the coast; Shrek, Doctor Who, Strictly and Poirot on the television; red wine and what's become the traditional veggie lasagne for dinner; and all shared with Matchgirl. Couldn't be better.

And the bonus was enough snowflakes in the morning to qualify for a white Christmas, followed this evening by a distinct rise in temperature. No thaw yet, but it feels not far away.

This is good news for pine martens, whose egg should stay unfrozen tonight – just as well, for Master Marten turned his nose up at cat food as a substitute. Some visitors have no manners.

Merry Christmas to you both! We had an odd dinner of cold meats and salad. Just isn't the same in the heat. At least we've got constant rain to make me feel at home.

We thought about you when we saw the cyclone reports. Hope you're keeping dry!

Just got your Christmas Card - thank you very much - yes I'm still hoping to do a Scottish Tour next year.
Love Dianne
