Back In The Old Routine

by Russell Turner - 20:39 on 07 November 2017

There are still days in which running doesn’t figure, and today was one of them. Work began in earnest on the next edition of Chatterbox, although there was time for a break in which to take The Pride for a ramble around the garden.

The Pentax came too, in the hope of capturing some feline antics, but only one snap survived quality control; cats continue to be as camera-shy as Matchgirl. Or martens.

Maia proved to be the fastest-moving of the trio, galloping from the bottom of the garden to the door at impressive speed. Clearly, she understands the word “Dreamies”, even when uttered quietly.

Willow 80

Willow shows off her prowess as a climber.

Fungus 3

Some garden fungus found a few days ago. The fairy houses are long gone.

Running did crop up tangentially, if only to prove that my ambition is going to cost me even more money than I anticipated. I’ve already had to turn down a gig on London Marathon weekend. Today I had to refuse another because Matchgirl and I will still be in Florence following her tilt at marathon glory. The lost pay packet would have covered everything I’ve spent so far on athletic clothing and marathon entry fees. Such is life.
