Selling Fast

by Russell Turner - 18:54 on 10 December 2016

Rosehaugh – A House of its Time has been officially launched and featured in the North Star and the Ross-shire Journal.

A packed house at Avoch’s Masonic Hall (we weren’t allowed in the room where The Mysteries are revealed) heard one of the authors, Magdalene, give her ‘brief’ talk (which lasted nearly a hour) on the history of the house and its owners.

One of the authors died a few years ago but after much searching his son was found in the south of England, from where he travelled with his daughter for the big night. Soft drinks and many cakes were consumed and a good part of the crowd left clutching copies of the latest addition to the Bassman Books list.

I’ve also posted several copies and heard a rumour that the book’s on display in Waterstone’s window in Inverness. Future sales look promising. Buy yours here.

Ben Line Man also thrives, just ten copies short of reaching the 1,000 sales milestone. I should be a millionaire.

Phoebe and Simon from England, Hilda, me, Kathleen and Magdalene at the launch.

After some hectic weeks I’ll now have time to relax and listen to the latest Rick Wakeman CD/DVD release, which arrived today: The Phantom of the Opera. It’s a revamped 1990 soundtrack to the 1925 silent film and nothing to do with the musical.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be able to buy the cut price rail tickets to see him and fellow ex-Yes stars on stage in Glasgow and Edinburgh. That’s assuming he survives that long, as another of my Seventies rock heroes has gone – Greg Lake, just a few months after Keith Emerson, also of ELP. It’s not been a good year.

But I’ll be optimistic. In the meantime, here’s Rick showing off his keyboard set-up for the ARW tour. Just three months to go.
