A Literary Bonanza

by Russell Turner - 14:54 on 24 October 2016

It’s been an exciting day in the world of publishing. The next addition to the Bassman Books list – Rosehaugh – A House of its Time – went to the printers today. The book will go on sale sometime in mid-November.

For only £15 its readers will get 176 pages of history and 200 colour and black-and-white photos (and a couple of maps). A bargain. We’ve got a launch event pencilled in for the evening of December 8.

And I can now reveal that Memories of a Ben Line Man is the 2016 Book of the Year as chosen by Sea Breezes magazine. With luck this will be a good omen for the Maritime Media Awards, which author Stuart attends on Tuesday with his fingers crossed that he’ll pick up the Mountbatten award for best literary contribution.

What’s next remains to be seen. A couple of possible publications have been mooted by local authors but there’s nothing definite. In the meantime, it’s almost time to begin work on the Winter edition of Chatterbox. So much to do…
