Forty And Counting

by Russell Turner - 16:56 on 03 February 2016

The future continues to look promising for City Limits. Two recent confirmations have pushed the 2016 gig list up to forty dates.

But we won't count our chickens. Experience tells us that illness, double bookings and death of venue will strike down some. The flip side is that more bookings are sure to come along, and maybe we'll hit our initial target of a gig-a-week average for the year.

Both our new bookings are on Skye – Portree Gala in August, through our good friends at the Portree Hotel, and before that a first gig at the King Haakon Bar in Kyleakin, where I've not played since the days of Fire. That was almost ten years ago; where does the time go?

Saturday's private birthday gig may be our last with drummer Mike. There may be tears.

Chatterbox Update: The first pages of the Spring edition were produced today, despite the handicap of a cat determined to sleep on my lap. Working from home has its challenges.
