Top Tips From A Kindle Queen

by Russell Turner - 21:19 on 24 September 2015

Black Isle Writers played host yesterday to a real Kindle star – Linda Gillard – who began as a print author before going digital and making a living from it. Lots of good advice was forthcoming, although the biggest tip was to get a big fan base before taking the leap into Kindle. If only.

Another tip was to get lots of reviews for your digital masterpieces, so I look forward to group members who've bought The Gift telling Amazon what they thought about it. Or, in several instances, getting round to reading it.

Someone must have been feeling guilty for the book was downloaded half an hour after our meeting finished – the first sale in several weeks. Yet that was enough to lift the Kindle sales rank from almost 500,000th to not quite 100,000th. Amazing.

Music Update: Last Saturday's City Limits gig at Foxes was another triumph, both the new songs going down well – especially Don't You Want Me. Everyone knows the chorus. We'll do it all again there on Friday, then it's off to the Bandstand at Nairn on Saturday. See you there.
