The Download Not To Be Missed

Kindle worked faster than I thought. The reformatted text of The Gift is now available for download at the bargain price of £1.99. I still couldn’t work out how to make the Contents page look right, though.

It’s a tale of love, rock music, Yorkshire and the discovery of an unexpected gift – but I can’t hint at what kind without spoiling the plot. You can buy it here. And if you don’t own a Kindle (I don’t – Matchgirl’s the digital reading enthusiast in The Rural Retreat) the link also tells you how to download a free Kindle app for Mac, PC, tablet and phone. So you’ve no excuse.

If you like the book (and, I suppose, if you don't) you could even leave a review. Some enthusiastic praise might pique the interest of the physical publishers who ignored me in the past.

Kindle offers cover creation software but Photoshop-proficient authors may upload their own file, which I did. Just think how good that would look piled high in Waterstones. I can dream.
