Doing The Deed

by admin - 23:17 on 11 July 2014

My rock and roll career is suddenly brighter again – The Deeds' bass player will be absent on Saturday after all and I've been called on the fill the gap.

The bad news is that my call-up has come at such short notice that there's been no time for a rehearsal, and as I'm selling my wares at Cromarty Market tomorrow there won't even be much time to run through many numbers at the sound check. Our stage performance could be interesting.

To further complicate matters, my Marshall amp is locked up in The Strays' rehearsal hall and Gregor, who looks after the key, is sunning himself in Spain. If his mum can't produce the key I'll play tomorrow night through a heavily miked-up practice amp.

If you've nothing better to do, wander over to Beauly village square at 5pm tomorrow where The Deeds will be the gala's headline attraction. And keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain...
