In The Lap Of The Gods, Part II

by admin - 17:00 on 23 February 2014

Matchgirl started the Malta Half Marathon despite illness and little sleep and completed it despite dehydration, lack of energy (not being able to keep even sports gels down) and having to throw up on several occasions.

Predictably, she was very unhappy at her “poor” time (as yet not officially released) and found little consolation in my opinion that starting and finishing under such trying circumstances was more impressive than a record-breaking time in good health. She might see things differently tomorrow.

Her afternoon was spent in bed, where she caught up with some missed sleep and allowed her ravaged tummy to recover.

We've one full day left in Malta, forecast to be the hottest and sunniest since we've been here. Let's hope she's able to make the most of it.

I think Matchgirl was very brave and deserves a lot of praise for continuing to run when she was not well. I hope you enjoy your last day and the weather is good for you, here of course it is cold, wet and windy. ( not that I am jealous or anything).
