A Tranquil Morning

by admin - 23:45 on 24 March 2012

Eden Court was jumping today, the day of our official exhibition launch. The place was packed with people of all ages and there was a real buzz in the air – everywhere but in our secret cul-de-sac, which was an oasis of tranquillity amidst the hubbub.

Blame Eden Court for a severe lack of posters and directions. Or maybe we simply lacked pulling power. Never mind.

The exhibition still looks good; a smattering of visitors was duly impressed. We sold a few books, a few cards, a couple of prints, and the show is on until the end of April so our prospects remain bright.

The only down side of the day was that, after seeing its publicity posters, Squirrel James and Matchgirl have both expressed keen interest in attending the Susan Boyle bio-show, I Dreamed A Dream, which plays in June with Elaine C Smith in the starring role and a guest appearance by SuBo herself. Mrs Squirrel and I may have to accompany them to keep them out of trouble.

Wildlife Update: Atmospheric conditions have prevented much recent Bushnell snappery (the lens becomes covered with condensation) but sightings of Mrs Marten on the gate have become a nightly occurrence. Until tonight.

For, after a false alarm earlier in the evening caused by New Mystery Moggy, tonight's visitor was one of the young martens – small, cute yet impressively well-clawed. The snaps will come soon.
