A Missed Opportunity

by admin - 22:47 on 03 October 2010

A splendid photo opportunity went begging as Matchgirl and I returned to Inverness this afternoon aboard one of FlyBe's pocket-sized aircraft. The view from the window was of Moray and Cromarty Firth made golden by the sun and tiny oil rigs lined up from the Sutors to Invergordon.

So it's a shame that the Pentax was in its camera bag, and that was hidden away at the front of the cabin by the steward because, as we'd bagged the emergency exit seats, I wasn't allowed to keep it under my seat and it didn't fit in the overhead locker. The window was filthy anyway.

Just a handful of Shetland snaps made it through quality control. They should appear on Flickr tomorrow.

Bess must have enjoyed her break from us, for she was in fine spirits when we entered The Rural Retreat after our week away, playful and hungry as a horse. And she'd found a new favourite place – in the bedroom/computer room where Spider once resided.

Life with Soo and Tony clearly agrees with her; good job Matchgirl's not the jealous type.
