Russell Turner is 53 and has been a journalist for most of his working life. Contrary to popular belief, that does not give him an advantage when writing fiction.

He was born and raised in Yorkshire but now lives in the Highlands where in 2008 he gave up a full-time job to pursue his literary ambitions, although photography takes up increasing amounts of his time, especially since he was raised to the dizzy heights of LRPS. He is now a part-time layout and design consultant, occasional website provider and would-be publisher.

Motorcycling and cookery are his other interests. He is also a pub rock bassist and writes a witty and heartfelt blog, read by discerning dozens around the world.
